Match referee David Webb made the decision at 9am, after covers were unable to protect the pitch from temperatures of -6c.
Freezing temperatures nationwide have played havoc with the day's football fixtures, with only four League One games still scheduled to take place as of 11am on Saturday morning.
They are Carlisle v Chesterfield, Huddersfield v MK Dons, Sheff Wed v Yeovil and Wycombe v Tranmere.
Only two games in League Two are still on - Bradford v Crawley and Plymouth v Southend - while Championship matches at Portsmouth and Doncaster have also been postponed.
