But manager Brian Laws expects him to be back on the training pitch this week, and available for selection within a fortnight.
He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "We're hoping to have him back in the next couple of weeks.
"We should get the nod by Thursday to get him back on the training ground again. I don't think it will be too long."
