The work has been delayed by the bad weather prior to Christmas, but at a meeting of the club's supporter forum before the Watford game the club said they expected it to be completed by the end of January and open to supporters by the end of February.
As a result of the work, a TV studio has been created at the corner with the away end. The executive area will be tripled, allowing the club greater scope to use the ground outside of matchdays.
The club also confirmed that they would apply for a grant to cover some of the cost of extending the Doncaster Road End.
Plans have been submitted to North Lincolnshire Council which would see the terracing move back nine rows - and likely have to be replaced by seats - and construction of a three-level building to front the stand. The Iron Bar will be extended.
Grants, up to a maximum of £750,000, can only cover half the cost of the project. The club have already said they expect it to cost more than £1million.
The next meeting of the supporters forum was scheduled to take place before visit of Derby County on Saturday February 19.
