As Iron-Bru.net exclusively revealed yesterday a formal bid was made on Friday to take control of the club, though chairman Steve Wharton has denied any knowledge of a bid.
Today former director Des Comerford and former associate director Graham Bean have been named as two of those involved in the bid.
Comerford owns local menswear shop Dee Jays, and had agreed a six-year shirt sponsorship deal with the club. This was withdrawn following Wharton's coup d'etat of the club but could return if the takeover bid is successful.
Bean briefly accepted a role as associate director, but decided not to take up the role following the boardroom takeover earlier this month.
If the bid is successful Scunthorpe United could get its third chairman in as many months.
