It read, "Well it is pretty clear that we are still work in progress with our current team. The weekend saw a disappointing result against a hardworking Dagenham side, but one we have to take pointers out of rather than positives.
I am sure that after the game Brian and his team felt that we perhaps could have approached the game differently, but we could all do that, couldn't we?
At times we looked too comfortable on the ball and were allowed to play in areas which did not really threaten, only to find when we were in a position, a hungry side stopped crosses and broke
down most of our play. Although saying that we had a couple of good chances we should have taken.
If we are to become the team we all want, we must learn quickly and not fear having a go at home, that is what we want to see as fans and we want to go home proud of the performances, win, lose or draw.
Brian and the players know what is needed, they understand the need for results and success and they want that too.
I do not think that any player goes out to play poorly, it happens and we have to live with it. If that continues and we need players to come in and compete for places, then so be it, it will be done.
I can fully understand the disappointment at the weekend and probably would have been happier, in a way, for it to have been a drab 0-0. Sadly we were given a couple of great opportunities to win a poor game and didn't take them, that's what hurts more than anything.
So, do we mope around and moan and groan, or do we lift the team for a result at the weekend? I know what I will be doing.
Up the Iron.
