Brian Quailey suffered a pulled hamstring during Saturday's 1-0 derby win over Hull City, and will sit out for a fortnight leaving Steve Torpey as the only fit senior striker at the club.
"It's another big injury blow for us just at a time when Brian has been showing good form with three goals in the last three games," Laws admitted in tonight's Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph.
"But now we have got to make sure we have someone in this week.
"I would like to do it as quickly as I can because I want him in to work with the players and bond with them.
"I still have one or two options and I want to get the best one that I can."
