Sparrow's suspension opens up room in the midfield, with Wayne Graves, Alex Calvo-Garcia and Andy Parton the three options Laws has to draft on to the right wing.
Laws opted for a 5-3-2 formation at the weekend to deal with Julian Alsop, but is likely to return to the favoured 4-4-2. This would see Ian Kilford return to partner Richard Kell in the centre of midfield.
With regular right-back Nathan Stanton ruled out with a dead leg Cliff Byrne will switch to the right, and Jamie McCombe will keep his place in the centre alongside Mark Jackson.
Laws has hinted though that he could switch to the 4-3-3 formation favoured when we last won promotion to the Second Division, giving on-loan Rangers forward his first competitive start for the club.
This would allow Laws to revert back to 4-4-2 if neccessary, with McLean filling in on the right wing.
Mansfield are unlikley to change the team which won 3-0 at Southend on Saturday, with hat-trick hero Iyseden Christie their danger man.
