Sharp is hoping to go straight into the Iron's starting line-up after signing from Sheffield United in a £50,000 deal during the week, he may replace Andy Parton in the side.
39-year-old winger Beagrie played 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek and is also hoping for a start, but Wayne Corden is expected to get the nod ahead of him, with Beagrie likely to start on the bench.
Following an impressive midweek display in the reserves striker Andy Keogh may have pressed himself into Brian Laws' plans, but a place on the bench looks more likely.
Veteran Tommy Johnson (hamstring) is also back in contention after a midweek run-out with the reserves, but is unlikely to be risked.
Midfielder Jim Goodwin (ankle ligaments), Lee Ridley (hernia) and goalkeeper Tom Evans (finger) all remain long-term absentees.
United have plenty of options despite these though, and go to the City Ground full of confidence.
Iron boss and former Forest full-back Brian Laws returns to the City Ground for the second time - following last year's Carling Cup defeat, and hopes to pull of a memorable victory.
Laws said: "Forest's fans must be cringing when they look at the fixtures and see their team alongside Scunthorpe, Yeovil and Chesterfield.
"But even though they are rightly favourites to win the division we won't be going there to make the numbers up."
Forest will be without injured defenders Danny Cullip and John Curtis.
Cullip has a hamstring problem and may be replaced by Wes Morgan while ex-Portsmouth man Curtis misses out with an ankle injury.
Close-season signing Gino Padula is set to make his Reds' debut at left-back, while fellow full-back Alan Rogers has completed a three-game suspension.
