The experienced winger moved to Glanford Park in September to provide cover, but the club said it was on non-contract terms.
He made four appearances off the bench, but was reported to have been released last week by new Iron boss Brian Laws as he looked to trim his squad and make room for new signings.
"If we are not going to give somebody a contract then there is no point them being here," he said last week.
Hyde's official website claimed on Friday evening that he had joined them on a two-month loan from the Iron, even though he would appear to have been a free agent.
