Iron chairman Steve Wharton has hailed the impact manager Nigel Adkins has had since he replaced Sheffield Wednesday-bound Brian Laws in November.
"His exceptional qualities are his motivational skills and his outlook on life - every day is the best day of his life," said Wharton.
"He is just great to be around. I can remember going with my father when we were doing well in the old second division, it has been an ambition of ours to do it again and now we have."
