McSheffrey worry for IronScunthorpe winger Gary McSheffrey remains an injury doubt for the home game against Southend.McSheffrey had hoped to return for Saturday's draw against Northampton after missing out the previous week due to a back problem but did not feature in the matchday squad.Striker Deon Burton is still unavailable as he works his way back from a calf problem, but player-coach Andy Dawson is hoping to retain his place after returning to the side on Saturday after a hip injury had kept him sidelined since November. The Iron are hoping to set a new club record of 20 games without defeat after equalling the 19-match unbeaten run set by Nigel Adkins' promotion winners during the 2006/7 season.Southend manager Phil Brown will leave it late to make a decision on several of his squad ahead of the trip. The former Hull boss confirmed John White, John Egan and Ben Coker are all doubts after picking up knocks in Saturday's defeat at Morecambe but will be assessed ahead of the game. However, Brown did confirm the Shrimpers will definitely be without Luke Prosser and Adam Thompson as the defensive duo continue to struggle with respective calf injuries.Fellow defender Julian Bennett is unlikely to feature again this term after a knee problem brought his season to a premature end
