Scunthorpe United have signed Rangers youngster Tom Brighton on loan.
The 20-year-old Scotland Under-21 international will move to Glanford Park until Christmas.
He has been a long-term target of Iron manager Brian Laws, but a summer move broke down when he suffered an ankle injury.
But with Saturday's hamstring injury to veteran winger Peter Beagrie, manager Brian Laws has moved quickly to snap him up ahead of last night's transfer deadline.
He is expected to play on the left wing, despite being used mostly as a striker for the Gers.
Laws said: "He could be even better than Steve MacLean, who we had on loan from Rangers last season."
