The former Hatters defender scored the only goal of the game by capitalising on an error by Stockport keeper James Spencer, who failed to get any distance on his clearance.

The ball fell to Goodwin, who fired home. Scunthorpe could have added a second, with Spencer denying New Zealand international Dave Mulligan.
