Reid sits out Crawley game

Reid has been in a battle to be fit after injuring his right hand during the summer tour of Ireland, but having missed the Capital One Cup penalty shootout win at Derby in midweek, the centre-half is still not ready for match action.

Manager Alan Knill has no new injury or suspension worries and is unlikely to make too many changes, if any, to his side after Tuesday night's remarkable fightback from 3-0 down against Derby which resulted in a 7-6 penalty shootout win after a 5-5 final score.

Damien Mozika (ankle) and fellow midfielder Michael Collins (Achilles) remain long-term absentees, but centre-half Niall Canavan returns to contention following international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.

Tom Newey is expected to resume alongside fellow summer signing David Mirfin in central defence, while striker Connor Jennings is pushing for a place in the starting line-up after stepping off the bench to fire a stoppage-time goal at Derby in midweek.

Crawley will have two former Iron players available for debuts in Jonathan Forte and Nicky Ajose.

The attacking pair joined on three-month loans on Friday, and will not be lacking in motivation should they go straight into the matchday squad against their former club.

The home side will also check on Mark Connolly. The summer signing from Bolton made his debut in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup penalty shoot-out win at Millwall but limped out of the action early in the second half.

He was replaced by David Hunt, who will be in line to start at right-back if Connolly is ruled out.
