He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "He has come back to us to carry on his rehab and he was able to do some light training.
"At this moment in time there is no suggestion that he will not be available for our game at Barnsley."
Paterson has scored four goals in his five outings for the Iron since his summer arrival from Stoke City.
