He struck with just over 10 minutes still to play at Glanford Park, after replacing Dion Dublin on the hour mark.
His shot went in off a post after a surging run forward by Norwich full-back Jon Otsemobor had opened up the Iron defence.
"Of course I was disappointed to be on the bench though. When I came on and I got the chance, I was so focused on it that I mis-hit it, but that's what happens as a striker," he said.
"I just wanted to be able to give myself a chance, which I did. We defended well and deserved to win the game.
"It's about the bigger picture of Norwich City, not just about me. I need to look at that."
