Sorry if we got anyones hopes up - our story about Indian billionaire Ratan Tata buying into Scunthorpe United was an April Fool's wind-up.
The spoof was inspired by ongoing speculation over the future ownership of the club, which started when current chairman Steve Wharton told this site he was looking for his successor in a Q&A with fans at the end of last season.
It has been a few years since we ran a spoof story on the opening day of April, but we have been running such articles since 2002 when we detailed plans to merge with Lincoln City to form North Lincolnshire United.
In 2004 we told you how then-manager Brian Laws had proposed to change our home colours to black in white, to help players pick out each other with their passes.
We followed that in 2006 by explaining how Glanford Park would be renamed the Jeep Car Park, in a story inspired by then director Simon Elliot's involvement role as managing director of Daimler-Chrysler.
And a year later we mocked the speculation over the future of in-form Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp by suggesting he was in line for a senior international call-up. We still think that could happen in the future.
