A lifelong Iron fan Oxenforth hopes to encourage more dialogue between the club and local businesses.
He said: "I hope this will be a good opportunity for me to get more involved with Scunthorpe United and use my association with other local businessmen to benefit the club.
"I have had a passion for Scunthorpe United for many years and would dearly like to see them progress further as a football club."
