Sammon, 24, has come onto the Iron's radar as they try to strengthen their frontline.
Three approaches for the Bristol Rovers forward Will Hoskins were turned down, while interest in the Brighton striker Glen Murray has also come to nothing.
Baraclough has admitted an interest in Sammon, who has scored 15 goals in 23 appearances for Killie this season where he played alongside recent Iron signing Ben Gordon.
Reports from Scotland suggested the Iron had offered £450,000 for the striker but Baraclough told BBC Radio Humberside that no bid had been made.
That went against what the Killie manager Mixu Paatelainen has said.
"There has been an offer from Scunthorpe and more or less everything has been agreed," he told BBC Scotland.
"But it is not just the clubs that decide and it will come down to Conor's decision."
He would not be the first Killie player targeted by Scunthorpe this transfer window, with the Iron also making an enquiry for their captain Craig Bryson, but that move has been put off due to an injury for the player.
