McCann doubt for Ipswich encounter

McCann, 27, suffered a knee injury in the 2-1 defeat at Wolves on Tuesday night and will force manager Nigel Adkins into making a late decision on whether to risk him or not.

Speaking to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, Adkins said: "McCann has got a bit of an injury to his knee.

"But we'll give it 48 hours, let everything settle down and reassess it."

Should McCann miss out, Jack Cork or Matt Sparrow are expected to slot in alongside Jim Goodwin in the centre of midfield.

Also a doubt for the game is left-back Marcus Williams who is struggling with a hamstring problem.
