Local side see through crisis

The Zebras, amongst the oldest football clubs in the country, have spent their first four days for 16 years managerless.

But now they're back with a manager, and it's the same man who resigned from the post.

Raz Clayton tendered his resignation from the managers position at the Hawthorns on Friday, this was accepted by chairman Dave Crowder on Saturday.

The disagreement was over the signing of former player Carl Stead, the FA Vase hero had left Town last summer - the board of the North East Counties League side blocked Clayton's attempts to re-sign him.

However, Clayton is now back in the post with Crowder now the one leaving the club.

In his time with the club he has won the FA Vase with a memorable 3-0 win over Clitheroe at Wembley in 1996, and last season lead the Zebras to the FA Cup first round for the first time in their history - losing out to second division Tranmere Rovers.

Raz takes charge of the side tonight for the visit of conference outfit Scarborough, whilst the Iron will be making their annual trip down the A18 on the 27th.
