He said: "I don't know what Paul (Musselwhite) was doing for the goal.
"He had just pulled off a fantastic save to keep it at 0-0 and he charged off his line for a ball he was never going to get.
"It was a poor goal to concede and gave them a massive lift, from then on we couldn't break them down.
"They were desperate for their first win and we made it easy for them.
"I would have been happy with a point but we got nothing and we've got to get back to square one.
"We didn't have enough composure and the players have now got to show the right character to stop the rot."
Franchise manager Danny Wilson added: "It's a big win but a deserved one. We've been doing enough in games to win but haven't been able to get over the line.
"The goal came from a well worked set-piece and then we dug in, shut them down and they never really looked like scoring.
"It is a big relief for the whole club. It's important that we push on from here and I hope I can start to name a settled side.
"We've had to chop and change but the players who came in did well and it's a great confidence booster that we kept a clean sheet as well.
"Wins breed confidence and this result will bring that to the players."
