The Iron boss was looking to bolster his squad with a wide player ahead of this weekend's clash with Exeter at Glanford Park, however the youngsters impressive performances in the reserves and youth team look to have put Laws off any loan deal- for now.
“I don’t want to shut that door on him", Laws told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
“And if he keeps putting the performances in for the reserves, he’s got every chance of getting some kind of game time.
Laws has insisted he is looking forward to giving the 17 year old a chance in the first team.
“I can’t wait to do it for him because I think it will be a proud moment for us to start showing our youth system.
“We are keeping a very close tab on him.
“I think we’d all like to see Hakeeb rather than another young player coming in.”
