United were held to a point by the Pilgrims, who had taken the lead through Jason Lee, but Laws felt that they had done enough to warrant all three points.
It was in sharp contrast to the poor display put in at Meadow Lane last weekend, culminating in a 2-0 loss to the Magpies.
Laws said: "I'm disappointed not to have won the game, the stats weigh heavily in our favour and Ranks has hit the post at the end.
"It was a great response (from last week), I was very pleased with the players - they were committed in the tackle, and going forward they were more positive.
"We were more like ourselves, if we carry on like that we will win a lot of games. The performance tells me that we will be alright, and with one or two new additions we will have a good squad."
Boston boss Steve Evans said: "We are delighted for the point, we dug in and worked very hard.
"I was disappointed with their goal, I felt Steve Torpey had handled the ball, but I've no complaint about Andy Butler's header - it was a fine effort."
