In a nice bout of irony the winner of the first managerial award of the season is Terry Dolan, manager of the only team United have managed to beat this season.
Dolan's York City outfit currently sit joint top of the third division table, but their success is all the more remarkable as Dolan has less tactical knowledge than our very own Laws.
The second division award went to Wally Downes, who has secured fourteen points for Brentford from their first six games. Harry Redknapp secured 16 for Portsmouth earning him the bottle of champagne for the first division.
With United earning an astonishing six points from our opening games, Brian Laws will be counting himself unlucky not to have won an award. Apparently he was the better manager for the first half of the decision process, before fading away and going on the defensive to protect a draw.
