Alexander had criticised Laws for refusing to shake his hand, but Laws hit back in a statement on the club's official website.
Laws said: "A lot has been said about this and I would lke to get it straight.
"I'm not going to be a hypocrite in going to shake his hand, it all stems from the first game we played at Lincoln when James Cotterill broke his leg.
"While the player was down Keith Alexander and his assistant said some unkind things, that upset me greatly and not only did it upset me it upset the player.
"We have never received an apology over the incident but the one thing I did do was to ring Keith Alexander and I didn't go running to the PFA or LMA."
