Paul Hayes came off the subs bench to hit the winner, after Ian Baraclough's opener had been levelled by Gary Birch.
Laws said: "The most important thing was three points, we have done the job and we have had the ascendancy, I could not fault the players' commitment.
"The position Kidderminster are in, I fully understood their formation - coming here to defend and try to sneak a point.
"Remaining in the top three is imperative, we've some tough games coming up with the top teams in the division in the next three weeks."
Kidderminster's Steve Watkis added: "We've given the top team a hell of a game, we frustrated them and I feel realistically we can do well.
"We work our socks off and made some real effort. We have had some illness problems this week, but we've looked after the players well and I think they've done well.
"I can't imagine many teams in the bottom half of the table putting on a better display."
