Laws said: "I thought it was a solid performance, we were strong in the midfield and in the back.
"It was all about set pieces, the balls that came in today were of very good quality."
The match was soured by injuries to midfielders Darren Holloway and Wayne Graves, although both should be fit for Saturday's Humber derby at Hull.
Jamie McCombe also saw his Iron career end just six minutes after coming on to replace Graves - with two yellow cards seeing him take a suspension as his welocme gift for new club Lincoln, who he will sign for tomorrow.
Laws added: "I wish him well and that is as much as I really want to say.
"He is not my player now, he'll be disappointed byt that is how football goes."
