Laws said: "It was important for us to bounce back from our defeat by Bristol Rovers on the opening day of the season.
"I thought some of our play was fantastic and it shows the lads are really starting to play good football.
"But we did look vulnerable at set-pieces and, as a manager, you would be disappointed if you didn't have anything to work on in training."
Shakers player-manager Andy Preece, who scored a late consolation goal, was critical of individual errors in his defence.
He said: "We've scored four goals in our first two league matches and got nothing to show for them.
"Some teams in the top six won't have scored that many. But individual mistakes and players switching off cost us today.
"We looked ragged at the back and we got dominated by their front two."
