The Dutchman today put pen to paper on a one-year-deal after impressing whilst on trial.
“We’re thoroughly delighted with his medical. We checked everything out that we were concerned about and we’re looking forward to working with him over this season,” Laws told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
“He’s a good guy. He’s an intelligent footballer who wants to do well.
“He can do things that others can’t, and sometimes when you’re in a tight situation or a tight game, you need somebody who can get something out of nothing.
“He’s certainly going to do that. He’s a match-winner, and to have one in League Two is going to be of chief benefit to us.
“We’ve lost a good player in Duffy but we’ve replaced him with a technically gifted player".
Laws also confirmed a deal for midfielder Sean McAllister will be concluded in the next few days.
