The high number of cautions comes as a surprise, especially as Uniited are one of only two teams in the third division who have yet to have a player sent off this season.

However, with four yellow cards coming within a short period in the second half of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town United are now dropping sharply down the fair play league.

The view of manager Brian Laws though, is that his players have been unlucky in their play and he will not be taking any action against the four booked on Saturday.

Matthew Sparrow, Steve Torpey, James Cotterill and Andy Dawson were the four culprits.

"I am sure people will look at us and think we must be a dirty side, but we didn't make one dirty challenge in the match," Laws told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph.

"It's atrocious that we have picked up four more yellow cards. That takes us to 15 in the last three away games.

"But I won't be punishing any of my players for Saturday because they gave their all."
