United make the trip in early July, but only a small number of Iron fans look set to make the journey.
It has been met with criticism by several Scunthorpe fans, who have called it a 'scam'. However, Laws has hit back, defending the trip.
"The Ibiza trip came about many months ago, we had discussions with the teams that have been out there before and thought it was a good chance for our supporters to combine their holiday and see us in a pre-season games," Laws told BBC Radio Humberside.
"We thought it would be great for the town to see us and mix with the players, and come along and enjoy it.
"There is a cost to the football club, and we want the supporters to come along with us. We know it is not a small cost, I've heard so many people saying it's a scam - it's not.
"Quite a few have been negative about it, there have been a few criticising the trip and it is nothing like has been said.
"We can get some good solid games in on good pitches, we like to go away with the players to work with them and there are no influences other than the training."
