Out of contract midfielder Richard Kell was also offered a new six month deal before last night's game with Aston Villa which will give him more chance to prove his fitness.
Brian Laws told the club's official site: "I've sat him down and guaranteed him a deal up until Christmas to see how he goes and if he continues to show the kind of form he has then we'll extend it again."
"Its just to give him a pat on the back and say well done because he's worked extremely hard over the summer but he still knows he has a little bit to do."
