"We had a bit of a shooting session on Friday with the gaffer and I won that, but to do it in the game was magnificent," he said after the game.
A number of Hull fans have claimed that the free-kick was taken too quickly, but Jackson dismissed those allegations.
"I went up to the ref and asked him if I could take it quickly, he said 'yes' and when Hodgy hesitated a bit I thought 'I'll have a go' and it just went in.
"I really enjoyed it but anyone would have done in such a big game. It was a really good time for us to score.
"Before we went to Hull we said the main thing was not to get beat.
"They had a great result against Mansfield and so we knew we had to go there and be solid.
"We wanted to try and nick a goal because we knew if we did we would have a good chance of getting a point.
"But luckily enough we got the goal when we did and got the three points."
