The 26-year-old, speaking to Iron World, said: "I think pre-season has gone okay. The gaffer has got what he needed out of us.
"The new players have got used to us and we've got used to them. We've got Grimsby as a last game now and we need to get on the winning trail.
Iriekpen believes that a win against Grimsby would increase the team's confidence ahead of the season opener against Leeds United.
"It would definitely increase confidence going into Leeds. We need to play well for 90 minutes, we've played well in parts of games, but we need a result from Grimsby.
The centre-back is confident that the strikers will be firing in the goals from all angles, once they get one or two in pre-season.
"It would be good for the team to get a few goals too. I think the strikers have been unlucky at the moment but once they get one they'll start flying in."
