"The referee didn't even know what it was for, we thought he'd blown for a foul against us
"People don't understand how passionate people are about football. They haven't played it themselves and they are making decisions like that."
Iriekpen did admit that refereeing was a difficult job, but suggested too many unfair decisions had gone against United this season.
"You can't do that to teams", he continued
"When we were asking him (the linesman) what the penalty was for, he was so arrogant about it. It was like it didn't really matter to him.
"It was him who gave the decision against Sparrow too, maybe he's got something against us. I don't know."
The West Ham trainee has warned his team mates that they need to move on quickly and not dwell on the disappointment of Saturday- suggesting they need to focus on the next crucial home game against Coventry.
"We've got the week to recover now and we've got to forget about it", he added.
