The centre-back will sit out Tuesday night's Lincolnshire Senior Cup tie with local non-league rivals Grimsby Town because of the problem.
He is not thought to be a doubt for the start of the Football League season next month, but scans should confirm whether he has broken a bone or not.
"It's not too bad because we know he can wear a cast and play," said Iron manager Alan Knill, speaking to the club's official website.
Damien Mozika, the midfielder, will also miss the game against Grimsby due to an ankle injury which meant he also missed both friendlies during the trip to Ireland.
