The Christmas schedule sees United take on two teams relegated from the Premier League this summer, with a trip to Middlesbrough on Boxing Day and West Bromwich Alion travelling to Glanford Park two days later.
Both games against Newcastle United are in midweek, with the Magpies coming down the A1 on Tuesday October 20 and the trip to St James's Park coming on Wednesday March 17.
Iron fans will be reunited with their former manager Brian Laws in August, as Sheffield Wednesda host Scunthorpe at Hillsbrough on Saturday August 22.
The season will end with a trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday April 24 and a home tie with Nottingham Forest on Saturday May 2.
