"We tried to bring him into the club in January but we couldn't manage that, which was dissapointing", he told BBC Radio Humberside.
"But he will be coming to sign the bit of paper on Tuesday".
And Adkins confirmed that he hopes to bolster his side further with the loan signing of Chelsea youngster Jimmy Smith ahead of the Humber derby on Saturday.
All he needs is the go ahead from Chelsea.
