But Hammond insists that the club will not be scrapping the Bunny, which was chosen after a competition in the Scunthorpe Telegraph in 1998.
"The club has no plans to change its mascot, we are quite happy with him," Hammond told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"Scunny Bunny is very popular with the fans, particularly with the children, and he has helped to raise thousands of pounds for charity."
