He said "I have no idea how the referee could not give us a penalty. It was as clear as anything and to send the player off was unbelievable.
"He had come back into the team for his first game of the season and he was left distraught in the dressing room. Wayne doesn't dive, he doesn't know how to.
"We'll have a look at the match video to see if it shows anything clear and then consider 'wasting' another three or four hundreds pounds of the club's money in an appeal."
If Laws does decide to appeal it will be the second time already this season the Iron have gone to the FA to appeal using video evidence.
The club appealed against Matthew Sparrow's sending off against Oldham in the Carling Cup earlier in the season but with no success.
Assuming the decision isn't changed Graves is likely to face a one match suspension ruling him out of United's home clash with Swansea City on September 13.
