Two games were held in North Lincolnshire as part of the Football Association's annual four-team event, with Portugal defeating Australia 4-3 in the opening game and England securing the trophy with a 3-1 win over the Portuguese in the final game. Grimsby Town and Lincoln City also hosted games.
"The club has made it clear that we'd be happy to hold other events. The FA has a number of considerations to take into account when choosing a stadium to host a particular event," said David Beeby, the Iron's general manager.
"Obviously the capacity and facilities are two important factors and the more high profile the match the higher the requirements."
The England U21 side defeated Germany 2-1 in 1991, when the Iron's stadium first hosted international football. Since then U16, U17 and U19 matches have been hosted by the Iron.
Three womens's finals have been held in Scunthorpe, with Doncaster winning the FA Women's Cup in 1994, and Arsenal claiming the Women's Premier League Cup in 2007 and 2009.
"We're delighted to host the events for the FA. We're really pleased that they keep coming back, which means we must be delivering what they expect," added Beeby.
"It does bring prestige on the club and it is good that the people of Scunthorpe get the opportunity to see up and coming England stars."
