Boss Adkins knows United will have to produce a similar start if he is to guide his team back up to the Championship, and he feels the Champney's environment will rub off well on his players.
"It went very well for us last summer at Champneys" Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph
"There is good accommodation there and the training facilities are superb.
"It gives us an opportunity to have several workshops on how we want to attack the season this year.
"It's about getting fit, but there is also a lot of psychology.
