The match, on Saturday August 18, will be followed by home games against Crewe Alexandra and Yeovil Town.
In return for playing away from home on the opening day, the Iron will conclude the season with a home tie with Swindon on Saturday May 27.
The festive period brings two away games, with a trip to Sheffield United on Boxing Day and Tranmere on Saturday December 29.
The new year, at least, will start with consecutive home games against Oldham and Shrewsbury.
Easter Saturday brings Leyton Orient to Glanford Park, while the Easter Monday fixture sees a long trip to Bournemouth.
