35-year-old Jamie Hammond will join the club on July 29 as general manager and club secretary, replacing Don Rowing who left the club at the end of last season.
His appointment came after the three-man board decided that the club needed to deliver `a better customer service`.
Iron chairman Steve Wharton said: "Jamie's previous experience working for Disney in Paris and the United States, as well as more recently in the sports industry for Eddie Jordan, made him an ideal choice.
"His positive commercial approach coupled to a more customer orientated attitude led us to believe that it was the right time to make this important operational chance within the football club."
The club have also promoted Michelle Harness to the role of commercial manager.
Wharton added: "These appointments are proof of our commitment to revitalise the football club to make it more professional, more customer orientated and a place that adds values to supporters, local businesses and the community as a whole.
"Both on and off the pitch we want people to really see and feel a difference at Glanford Park."a
