The youngster, whose only first team appearance to date came in the defeat at Mansfield Town last season, was expected to take his place on the right of midfield after a string of excellent performances in pre-season.
He went over on his left ankle during a training match, and the player has confirmed he strained ligaments easing fears he may have chipped his bone.

"I'm gutted, can't believe it, it's just come at the wrong time," he said.
