Grant, 20, has been on loan at Spotland for the past two months, scoring twice in six appearances.
He is likely to take a place on the bench against the Toffees, with forward Garry Thompson struggling with a groin injury.
Grant's return to Glanford Park is likely to be a temporary one. Ian Baraclough, the Iron manager, said earlier on Friday he was happy to extend his loan at Dale.
"I'm happy for him to stay out there at the moment while he's getting regular games because for him to come back here and be not playing would be detrimental to him," he said.
The Iron's captain Cliff Byrne is also a doubt with a back problem, but will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness.
Everton are without defender Phil Jagielka due to a thigh strain, while midfielder Tim Cahill is in Qatar as Australia take part in the Asian Cup finals.
