Exclusive - Iron takeover bid

"I know nothing about it"

The consortium placed the bid with current chairman Steve Wharton on Friday, it has not yet been accepted or rejected.

When questioned by Iron-Bru.net this afternoon Wharton said: "I know nothing about it."

It is unclear as to how much the bid is worth but if the bid is accepted the consortium say that £500,000 will be put aside for team rebuilding.
