The young striker, who has already scored against United at Glanford Park whislt on loan with local rivals Hull City, has hinted that he would be interested in staying on at the club after the initial month.
“I hope to get a few goals for Scunthorpe United and be as successful as possible while I’m here,” Dudley told the club's official website.
“I’m led to believe it’s just a loan move but we will just have to see. That’s down to the two clubs and me at the end of the month.
“It obviously depends on how well I do whether Oldham will require a fee for me. If I score five goals in five games then they probably will but if I come here and just score a couple of goals they may say they don’t want a fee.
“I was involved a lot under Andy Ritchie last season unfortunately he got the sack and the new manager has come in.
"Since then I haven’t had a chance at first team level because the squad has been so big.
"He has decided to thin it out which has given me the opportunity to come here."
Dudley will be competing with powerful striker Brian Quailey to play alongside Steve Torpey, he has already played with Torps whilst they were both at Notts County.
