Andy Dawson's younger brother Michael has been called up to the England squad as a result of Ledley King's withdrawal with gastro-enteritis.

As serious as it sounds, gastro-enteritis is nothing more than a virus. Its symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps but Ledley should be fine in a couple of days.

England under 21 defender Michael was given the shock call-up to the two-day get-together on Monday night.

Andy, said: "It is brilliant news for him and I am really pleased for him.

"He spoke to me about it last night on the phone and as soon as I got home from training, I saw him on TV training with the full squad.

"Michael has only played 20 or so games for the Forest first team and has been hyped up a bit in the newspapers.

"This sort of thing does not usually happen but it is a great thing for him.

"Now he will probably be the one giving me advice!

"All he has ever wanted to do is be a professional footballer, and when I was at Forest he was always there to watch me play when I was a YT.

"He has got a great enthusiasm for the game and he is capable of keeping his feet on the ground.

"You have to remember he is still just 19 and he will get nervous.

"I am 24 and if I was training with the likes of the England team then I would be nervous too."

Dawson junior is the latest product from Forest's prestigious youth academy and is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs with Liverpool believed to be at the front of the queue. Experts have valued the 19 year old at around £5 million.
